Much Loved Bears

Our first best friend has been the teddy bear! During our childhood we have cuddled him, thrown him around, treaded on and sometimes also left him behind, but he has always sat in our bed or in some hidden corner of our room listening to our thoughts. Now we are adults and he will be in any dusty box, awful looking and maybe also without fur! “When you see these teddy bears and bunnies with missing noses and undone stuffing, you can’t help but think back to childhood and its earliest companions who asked for nothing and gave a lot back.” Destroyed, unstitched, blind and deaf teddy bears are the main characters of Much Loved, a series of the irish photographer Mark Nixon, who made cried also the most cynical people!

Francesca travels the world capturing life at the moment, preserving that time forever. She moved to Bristol in 2010, where she studied and learnt the basics but it wasn't till a year later where her main education took place. It was in the street of Bristol and it's vibrant art scene. She quickly became part of this country which led her to learn more about photography and much more.
