Broken Things is a project by Chilean artist Livia Marin. Bowls, jars, plates and cups, sculpted with cracks and splits on them; everyday objects in which the breaks represent the sense of fatality and loss permeating our lives. In opposition, the idea of turning them into pieces of art reveals the artist’s intention to recuperate the particular relationship which creates between the objects and the people who use them.

Broken Things è un progetto dell’artista cilena Livia Marin. Ciotole, vasetti, piatti e tazze scolpiti con spaccature e rotture; oggetti di uso quotidiano in cui le fratture rappresentano il senso di fatalità e perdita che permea le nostre vite. In antitesi, l’idea di trasformarli in opere d’arte rivela l’intenzione dell’artista di recuperare il particolare rapporto che spesso si crea tra gli oggetti e chi ne fa uso.
